Component arrangement: Implant → Ti-Base / implant abutment → Zirconia crown, secured with a prosthetic screw.
Workflow: The technician bonds the zirconia crown to the Ti-Base outside the mouth, creating a single restorative assembly. During clinical placement, the dentist secures the assembly to the implant or a multi-unit abutment (MUA) with a prosthetic screw, depending on the component system.

Germany-VITA
The material features five naturally graded layers, with strength ranging from 800 to 1200 MPa to support a wide range of restorative indications.
Translucency gradually increases from 42% in the cervical region to 49% at the incisal edge.
The higher incisal translucency recreates the light-transmitting qualities of natural enamel, while the lower cervical translucency provides effective masking of the underlying tooth shade.
China-Yucera
The material combines eight stacked layers with 15 gradient transitions, creating natural variations in shade, translucency, and strength. Translucency gradually decreases from 57% at the incisal edge to 43% in the cervical region, providing distinct optical depth.
Meanwhile, flexural strength ranges from 700 to 1200 MPa across the layers, balancing the highly translucent esthetics needed for anterior restorations with the strength required for posterior restorations.
China-Upcera
The material features three pre-shaded layers with five gradient transitions, creating a natural progression in shade. Flexural strength ranges from 850 to 1200 MPa across the layers, while visible light transmittance ranges from 45% to 48%, providing lifelike translucency.
Easy to process and offering consistent performance, the material also supports customized internal coloring to meet a wide range of esthetic restorative needs.
USA-3M·LAVA
The material delivers a natural, translucent appearance, with greater translucency than conventional zirconia and precise marginal fit. For customized shading, it offers 8 special-effect stains and 18 patented stains, providing a versatile color palette to meet each patient’s individual esthetic needs.
Clinical studies involving more than 1,500 restorations reported a 100% survival rate after 8 years in clinical service, supporting its long-term reliability.
Germany-Wieland
The material creates lifelike optical effects and is available in 7 shade categories, combining distinctive translucency with high strength. Advanced CAD/CAM technology enables precise fabrication and excellent marginal fit.
Integrated with digital restorative workflows, it is well suited to producing customized esthetic zirconia restorations that meet demanding clinical requirements.
Germany-VITA
VITA YZ HT high-translucency zirconia is a porous, pre-sintered yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) material. It is particularly well suited to fabricating finely detailed crown copings and bridge frameworks, with excellent physical properties that support precise marginal fit in the final restoration.
Germany-Sirona
The material’s excellent translucency helps create restorations with natural, lifelike esthetics. Crown copings are available in 5 shades, offering flexibility for highly customized esthetic results. The material also provides excellent biocompatibility, supporting safe and reliable restorations.
Switzerland-ivoclar
The material offers up to 20 coping shades, delivering refined esthetics and excellent optical properties for customized esthetic restorations.
At the heart of modern manufacturing, our company stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence, proudly offering cutting-edge CNC laser cutting machines.
Our products are meticulusly designed to meet the diverse needs of industries striving for precision, efficiency, and versatility.
We receive the customer’s intraoral or model scan files and confirm the tooth numbers, requested shade, restoration type, bite registration, and specific fabrication requirements.
Our technicians will review data completeness, preparation margins, available occlusal clearance, proximal areas, and the path of insertion. Any missing information or questions about the case are clarified with the customer before design begins.
The crown contours, margins, proximal contacts, occlusal contacts, and surface anatomy are designed according to the prescription.
An appropriate zirconia disc is selected based on the tooth position, requested shade, and material requirements. The restoration is then digitally nested within the disc and milled.
After sintering, the zirconia restoration undergoes staining, glazing, polishing, and individual characterization as needed to achieve the requested shade and meet the case requirements.
Each restoration is inspected to verify tooth numbers and case information, marginal integrity, internal fit, proximal and occlusal contacts, shade, surface quality, and the absence of cracks, chips, or other defects. Once approved, it is cleaned, labeled with its case identification, and securely packaged for shipment.

What is an implant-supported multilayer monolithic zirconia crown?
An implant-supported multilayer monolithic zirconia crown is made from pre-shaded multilayer zirconia, featuring gradual changes in shade or translucency from the cervical region to the incisal edge. It connects to the implant through a Ti-Base, stock abutment, or custom abutment.
How does it differ from a conventional tooth-supported zirconia crown?
Both crowns can feature a full-contour, monolithic zirconia structure, but their supporting structures and connection methods differ.
A conventional tooth-supported zirconia crown is fitted over a prepared natural tooth, while an implant-supported zirconia crown connects to an implant through a Ti-Base or implant abutment. Implant crown design therefore requires additional consideration of the connection platform, screw access channel, abutment height, emergence profile, and soft tissue contours.
How do you choose between screw-retained and cement-retained restorations?
The choice depends on several factors:
- Implant position and angulation;
- Screw access channel exit location;
- Anterior or posterior tooth position;
- Esthetic requirements;
- Available restorative space;
- Abutment retention height;
- Soft tissue depth;
- Future removal and maintenance needs.
If the screw access channel can exit through an appropriate occlusal or lingual location, screw retention may be considered. If it would exit through a visible area, such as the facial surface of an anterior tooth, options may include a compatible angled screw channel system, a custom abutment, or a cement-retained restoration.
What is the difference between multilayer zirconia crowns and conventional monochromatic monolithic zirconia crowns?
Conventional monochromatic monolithic zirconia crowns have relatively uniform shade and translucency. Multilayer zirconia crowns use layered zirconia materials to create gradual transitions in shade and translucency from the cervical region to the incisal edge.
The specific strength, translucency, and indications depend on the selected zirconia brand and product grade.
