The Scan Body is a precision digital positioning device used in modern dental implant workflows. Its primary role is to accurately capture the three-dimensional position, angle, and orientation of the implant within the patient's mouth using high-precision scanning technology. The scan data obtained serves as the foundation for designing, manufacturing, and placing the final restoration, ensuring a perfect fit between the implant and the patient's oral structure.
In the digital workflow, the scan body acts as a critical bridge between the patient's actual oral condition and the CAD/CAM software. It represents the exact position and orientation of the implant, implant analog, or abutment during the scanning process, allowing the software to correctly align the subsequent restoration. This enables dentists and technicians to visualize the three-dimensional structure of the oral cavity, create more personalized treatment plans, and guide the accurate placement of the final prosthesis.
Fully compatible with Nobel Biocare® implant systems, this scan body is available in two platform options:
NP platform (Narrow Platform)
RP platform (Regular Platform)
Each scan body is designed with precise geometry that matches the corresponding implant connection, ensuring reliable positioning throughout the digital workflow.
